After controlling a series of related factors, the researchers found that the average salary for men with traditional gender role concepts is more 8500 U.S. Dollars than those without such concepts. As for this phenomenon, the researchers believe that today even in the promotion of gender equality environment, people who have traditional concepts also will try to maintain a balance between work and family. While for women, the results are totally opposite, the women who have traditional gender the role concepts, their salaries are less on average 1500 U.S. dollars than those who hold the concepts of equality between men and women, but such differences are not so obvious. In other words, it can be expected that the married couples holding the traditional concept of sex role earn as 8 times much as those holding the concept of both men and women being equal. And if a man with holding traditional attitudes combines with a woman holding a gender perspective, they will create the highest family income.

This result has shown that to change the concept of sex role affects the equality of earning. The females suffer more loss as their concepts become more traditional. There would be a smaller difference between the earning of both men and women when the concepts become more equal. At the same time the researcher also found that those whose parents were working outside of the respondents showed less traditional gender roles. While the married, people with religious belief would be more likely to have traditional values. As to the young, there is comparatively a smaller number of them having conventional concept of gender. But the older they are, the more conventional concept they have. Now more and more people realize that the inequality income between men and women is not only the phenomenon of the economy, but also the there are some psychology factors behind it. The public policy of government is trying to make the equality between men and women come true, but the traditional idea of people would affect it in a long time.
